Farewell, Instagram Security and Privacy

Aug 21st is my last day with Instagram Security and Privacy.

I am proud of the work we have done in the past two years for protecting Instagram users and their data, building up one of the most beloved and trusted communities in the world. I also appreciate what I have learned in the meantime while working with the best colleagues in the daytime and on-call companions at night.

Thank you to all my teammates and managers in Trust Pillar, who helped grow IG S&P from a small team with a half dozen folks into a group of over thirty people showing up in the weekly sync-up meeting. I am honored to have the opportunity to solve those very unique problems for the largest online social network in human history. You may ask that Facebook is still larger than Instagram in terms of user base and activities – but along with the growing unification efforts, nowadays IG S&P is dealing with the problems from a union of FB and IG. I am not overemphasizing our impact…

However, there is a saying in China, Running water is never stale and a door-hinge is never worm-eaten (流水不腐,户枢不蠹). I think it is time for me to become a noob once more and learn something different while still contributing my best to this beloved community. Next stop, I will join in Instagram Interests of Instagram New York. You all know that it is not the best time to relocate now, so I will be staying in Pacific Time for a while. Feel free to ping me if you have any remaining documentation requests or need help with anything.

换组了,难得用英文写与工作无关的文字。这个goodbye post没有任何敏感信息,就贴在这里充数吧。
